Read Luke Chapter 24 (you can use a Bible you have, or follow the link)
And so we come to the end of our journey with Luke’s gospel. Not so much an end as a wonderful new beginning. If Easter with its resurrection hope hadn’t happened, the celebration of Jesus’ birth would not have caught on! But it did and would become the hinge dividing our calendar between Before Christ and ‘AD, in the year of our Lord’. At Christmas time we remember a birth story from 2000 years ago, but only because it’s a story impacting our now – for Jesus is alive, and by the Holy Spirit and through the Church God’s upside down Kingdom values are lived, nurtured and grown.
With love, truth and light… this Christmas Eve, through the Christmas Season… and for ever…
Have a very happy Christmas.
PS: There will be one final reflection, a video message will be linked from www.aksm.org.uk/christmas for Christmas Day.
